Watch this: Guy holds a cluster of bees as they attempt to sting their queen to death
This is actually pretty cool and this behavior is actually completely normal for bees. Whenever a mated-Queen is re-introduced to her hive, she runs the risk of being seen as a stranger by the worker bees and can be killed over the misunderstanding. In addition to that, if a virgin Queen is born or is introduced to a colony with an existing Queen, the existing Queen again runs the risk of her workers staging a coup.
It may seem aggressive and mean, but through these behaviors bees are able to perpetuate a healthy life cycle for their hive.

Beneficial insects don't bother me at all. If I see bees buzzing around flowers I have no probs. But I see wasps and I get grossed out. Lady Bugs, no probs. Aphids, grossed out. Etc.
