Are You Predisposed To Believe Bigfoot Is Real?

You believe in bigfoot, and all your friends think you're crazy. But you know the truth! You've seen the evidence, you've heard the audio, you've read the sighting reports. You KNOW it has to be real. What about ghosts? Do you believe those are real too? What about UFO's? The Loch Ness Monster? Psychic phenomenon? According to this psychologist, some people are more inclined to believe in bigfoot, and other paranormal things, than other people are. It's all in the way that we think.

A recent psychology study concluded people who believed in, say, Bigfoot were more likely to believe in the NWO. It makes sense that a person who believes in one paranormal phenomenon would believe in another conspiracy, but van der Linden notes an individual's thinking style also is factor. A recent study used tests to determine if a person was an intuitive thinker (quicker to react) or a reflective one (more cautious and skeptical) and also measured their paranormal beliefs. Intuitive thinkers were more likely than reflective thinkers to believe in the paranormal.

The reason intuitive thinkers were more likely to believe in the paranormal may be the conjunction fallacy -- where two specific things are believed to be more probable than a single general item. Van der Linden uses the scenario of a woman who can predict the future or that same woman being able to predict the future and read minds. The conjunction fallacy leads some people to say the latter description is more likely to be true, according to van der Linden, even though the latter situation can't have a higher probability of occurring than the singular item (predicting the future). For van der Linden and other psychologists, the "and" is extremely important.

    8. Yeah, turd guy could be Parcher. He pretty much posts 24 hours a day about Bigfoot, so does turd guy. He's also had several sock puppets on the BFF.

  2. This is why alot of people dont think psychologists are real scientists. Whats real and factual to some people isnt real and factual to others. And to the psychologist both are right. Nothing is really right OR wrong to a psychologist. The reason I think their maybe an American Ape or hominid running around is because as a scientist I was taught alot different ( I got a C- in psychology) but I have spent my whole adult life in and around the Sierras. I have stood out on a mountain peak and you can see for miles and nothing is there but more mountains. It makes sense that another animal that is smart enough to know people are dangerous animals, and they have known for thousands of years, so you can believe everything they do is based on avoiding humans. They may live in small groups with 2 sentries scouting at all times to protect the Alpha, the female and any children in the group.
I dont believe much in UFOs, because I spent my career in the military and if you just look at the sources available you can piece together things seen in magazines and the internet, and match up many UFO accounts with programs. Plus physics will tell you as far as we know we cant get to the nearest inhabitable planet without hitting the speed of light and then all kinds of weird things happen.
Ghosts I dont know, but I can't reconcile what happens to the energy or the spirit of the human after death. So I leave that one alone.
I think people can evaluate each case on its own. But you get people
outside of the norm who are just looking for something else and they are the ones psychologists like to study. So you get papers like this. Interesting but not very practical.
I can take Bigfoot, UFO's? Not yet. But if physicists prove time warps
and worm holes in quantum physics then all bets are off. That will be after my time, and by then I will know about ghosts.

    1. As a scientist, you know that standing on a mountain looking at other mountains is not proof of Bigfoot, right?

    2. Most of the best evidence of UFO`s comes from TOP military sources...what were you,a cook or driver ?

    3. That is a fact 3 48. Hundreds of military personnel have stepped forward, Col Charles Hault Deputy Commander of Bentwaters Royal AFB during the very famous Rendelshom Forest incident in 1980 comes to mind. I think it was Steven Greer who put together the Discloser Project earlier in this Milineum had dozens of military people.
Back in the 60's when the media took this subject very very seriously Senator Barry Goldwater tried to get answers out of a trusted friend that being Chief of Staff General Curtis Lemay ( very distinguished career ) Lemay told him point blank ask me anything you want but do not ever ask me anything about this subject again.

  3. Now that Alaskabushpilot got caught lying about hunting leopards in the Amazon do you JREF/ISF dolts still believe his rotten teeth happened when he pretended to be a professional fighter who fought in 2 weight classes above his weight ?

    2. t's obvious to any objective person that APB is not playing with a full deck. I think the footers on ISF like "Resume" and the others have to support and agree with him or they risk getting kicked out of the pretend skeptic herd...or they really are just dolts.

    4. The sad thing is the JREF/ISF footers try to posture themselves as the only sane footers who are obsessed with Bigfoot as they idolized a mentally ill, pathological liar who pushed the BLAARG nonsense and was the biggest BLAARG'er of them all....lmao
